The Golden Gandhi Statue from America: Early Stories, by Subimal Misra, translated by V Ramaswamy, Harper Perennial, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers India, 2010. Price: Rs 199.

The collection includes fifteen stories, written by Subimal Misra during 1968-73, a turbulent period in the history of Calcutta and West Bengal.
